About the value of genre as a category of analysis. A philosophical and epistemological interpretation of two texts by Joan Scott
Keywords:
genre , feminist theories, philosophical and epistemological presuppositionsAbstract
We examine internal theoretical aspects involved in the category of genre using the reading of two texts by Joan Scott as a methodological procedure. We identify philosophical and epistemological presuppositions present in theoretical notions from the fields of genre studies and feminist theories. Our conclusions highlight the importance of these procedures in the understanding of practices and productions within the Latin American context.
