Abstract

It has long been suspected that the level of English that Engineers receive at the Faculty of Engineering and Agricultural Sciences (FICA) of the National University of San Luis (UNSL) is not enough to satisfy the needs of future graduates at the moment of entering labor. Given such uncertainty and in response to the call for projects by the National University of San Luis, a group of teachers from the Language Area of the Faculty of Engineering and Agricultural Sciences with a background in research for several years, decided to make a research proposal related to the aforementioned situation. The result of this proposal was the presentation and subsequent approval of the Project PROIPRO Nº 14-6518 called "Study of the teaching practices of English in the Faculty of Engineering and Agricultural Sciences of the UNSL and its relationship with the demands of the working environment". The objective of this paper is to present this academic research project whose goal is to offer an alternative to improve the teaching of English in the engineering careers that are taught at FICA.
