Education and media culture at the crossroads: their impact on language teaching
Keywords:
Language, Multimedia communication, School, TransdisciplinaryAbstract
This paper addresses the possibilities offered by multimedia communication and the abundance of digital technology, and their effects on the field of education in general and on school practices in particular.
This paper also seeks to challenge the main issues that concern current sociocultural changes and their impact on new demands and skills, which in turn translate into the urgent need to "form" and "be formed" in response to such changes.
In this sense, a framework for discussion on the importance of a transdisciplinary approach to teaching and its implications in the field of language is introduced.
