This work narrates an educational experience in a state secondary school located in a low-income neighbourhood in San Luis City, Argentina. Primarily, this work focuses on the task accomplished in the subject “Cinema workshop”, during which students made an audio-visual product dealing with common problems in their neighbourhood as a strategy of analysing their reality. In addition to this, this work will include an
investigation of the tensions which occurred at school during the project.
As regards the description of the proposal, it consisted of three moments: A) Problem. B) Action. C) Communication.
In relation to the analysis of this experience, it can be said that the work involved making some changes in the school formats, which caused some tensions between:
- The fragmented academic knowledge and the knowledge framed in the social significance since the inclusion of ICTs.
- The learning time ruled by the school format and the learning time using ICTs, which promoted the learning in group processes, the collaborative and collective construction.
- Learning in order to be evaluated and self-evaluating when learning.
In conclusion, it is remarkable to say that this educational experience allowed the students to become aware of their realities and to voice their opinions and proposals for the solution of certain problems.
