The present work constitutes a systematized version of what was presented at the Study, debate and discussion Symposium about the “Digital Public Education” and “Teacher Activity” Bills, organized by the Faculty of Human Sciences during October 2010. The purpose of this work is to share some considerations regarding digital schools based on the fundamentals of instrumental educational technology that the government of the province of San Luis propels as the solution to the educational problems of the province and to their subjective and educational effects. Its aim is not to become an opposition party to educational technology but a possibility of thinking about the use of technology from a critical perspective that re positions the subject within his/her socio-historical and cultural context. In this article some differences are highlighted with regard to instruction rooted in a strongly instrumental logic and to formation as a subjective process that offers possibilities for personal and social transformation, always collective, always related to others who sustain us and whom we sustain in the world. This article is an invitation to think education as a humanizing construction and not as an instrument at the service of the market and the new labor demandsthat alienate and disown the subject as a subject of needs, desires and bonds.
