Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to present a set of reflections from the development and analysis of scenes of a Danish series released in 2012, on the Netflix platform. The protagonist is Rita Madsen, a woman who practices teaching in a different way by challenging herself to face various situations in the school environment and in everyday life. This presentation will focus on some powerful events presented in the fourth season, released in 2017. The scenes account for different experiences that the protagonist goes through, especially after her return to teaching and the connection of her practice with certain states of ill-being from the past -a past populated by ghosts inhabiting her present. The success of the series denotes the importance that audiences give to the figure of the teacher as a social actor who enables changes and favors the inclusion of subjectivities, the visibility of different childhoods and adolescents from a socially committed bond. The fact of situating these stories is important in terms of recognizing teachers as cultural and social representatives who carry out an exercise of passing culture to children and young people. In the final part, we present some considerations about the class work conducted in various teacher training programs of the UNLPam using the series as a trigger, which is implemented by the Psychology Chair of the Teacher Training Department, at the School of Human Sciences.
