Abstract

In this article, we present some advances in the investigation entitled “Legal education in secondary school, theoretical analysis, and case study in schools from Córdoba” that we currently conduct in the Teacher Training Program of Legal Sciences of the National University of Córdoba. As a general objective, we propose to identify the main legal concept present in the Social Sciences course, through the analysis of the official curricular guidelines and the programs of the courses, as well as the observation of how these contents are taught in the classroom. One dimension that we are interested in exploring focuses on the link between school, politics and society, and intends to deepen into how updated fundamentals of citizenship education are developed in the school. We also analyze to what extent teachers have taken positions in this regard. For this analysis, we consider that it is essential to identify the definitions reflected around the notion of citizenship in the curricular design. Therefore, we advance in this direction, capturing the results of the analysis of official documents that constitute the Curriculum Design for Secondary Education of Cordoba Province, particularly of the learning and the contents proposed for the courses Citizenship and Participation, Training for Life and Work, and Citizenship and Politics.
