Abstract

The present work deals with a scenic project about the participation of women in San Martín Church, in particular the story of Pancha Hernández, one of the four women who joined the Army of the Andes, fighting alongside her companions with the same sagacity and courage. The work was carried out with sixth year students of the Art Secondary School "Nicolás Antonio de San Luis" within the framework of the subject "Final Project" of the Artistic Professional Course in Dance, which the school offered until 2015. The theoretical framework emerges from the conceptual categories "documentary dance" and "collective creation". The first is the metaphor that is created by intertwining the life of a character of Argentine history with that of the person who represents it. A dance that seeks to review the hegemonic history, differentiate itself from academic stereotypes and build from the identity of its protagonists. On the other hand, the concept of collective creation refers to the questioning of traditional forms and roles of artistic creation based on a hierarchical order, proposing the participation of all artists in the different stages of construction of a work.
