Abstract

Buen vivir (good living) is a political category that goes back to The First New Chronicle and Good Government: On the History of the World and the Incas up to 1615. This chronicle was written by Guaman Poma in 1615. In this book, “good government” and “buen vivir” are used as synonyms. For the buen vivirto be possible, Guaman Poma requires the King to repair the injustices committed by the Spaniards and restore justice to the Colony. After describing this category in Guaman Poma, we proceed to analyze Buen vivirin the speeches of Evo Morales Ayma.
