Abstract

This work is part of a progress report of the research project PROICO 4-1118 “Teacher training in San Luis. Between the educational expansion and the normalism agony” (CyT, Universidad Nacional de San Luis), whose aim is to analyze and understand normal teacher training in San Luis.This report intends to inform some of the appreciations of the teachers trained in the two normal schools of the city of San Luis during the 50s and 60s.We analyze the meanings they give to their training,from their present,with a retrospective view their experiences during their teacher training period.Interviews were used as data collection tools. The analysis, focused on the teachers’ memories of their training teachers, the way in which they dialogue with their past and the recovery of some subjective traces, shows the conditions imposed from the order of the effective history and the several factors they went through, which make these subjects unique.
